So maybe almonds don't have breasts but that doesn't mean that they can't make milk. Awhile back I decided to drink less (notice I just said less) cows milk since clean eating is a major priority in my life.
I discovered the wonderful world of almond milk. Growing up it was one of those things my mother always bought with the intention of actually drinking it but usually didn't (sorry mom but you know its true). Since I still live in her house and she continued to buy it I decided to try it when I was out of dairy milk one day. The heavens opened up and angels sang. I immediately put it on my grocery list.
The superstar of this recipe is of course the ALMONDS! Almonds have many benefits but the two most note-able are biotin and vitamin E. As you may know biotin is great for hair, skin and nails but were you aware that it helps balance blood sugar as well? So if high blood sugar is an issue with you then you may want to try this out. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant (so pair this with berries for a powerful punch of healthiness) and also helps fight against heart disease which is not only a major problem in our country but also in the African American culture as well.

You know what they say though; if you love a food make it homemade. Okay so maybe they don't say that but I did and I hope you do too. Stay thirsty my friends. Go school yourselves in that kitchen!!!
And yes I took these pictures by my back door since it has the best lighting. Don't judge!! Anyone have tips for taking food pictures in a kitchen with bad lighting? Leave them below.
